West Island Cyclones selected as FPVQ’s Club of the Year

DOLLARD-DES-ORMEAUX, Quebec, Dec 28, 2020 – CPV West island Cyclones announced today they have been selected by the Fédération de Patinage de Vitesse du Québec as Club of the Year for the 2019-2020 season.

In 2018, the number of members of the Dollard-des-Ormeaux Speed Skating Club had fallen to less than 30 skaters and the club’s survival was at risk. In 2019, an ambitious rebuilding process began to make the club one of the leading short track speed skating organizations in its region. New logo for a regional personality with the West Island Cyclones, building ties  with neighboring municipalities, promotion of the sport at community events and in particular an additional address in a new arena with an international-sized ice rink at the Sportplexe de Pierrefonds. With these efforts, the club has experienced a prodigious increase in its membership, concluding the 2019-2020 season with 132 registrations. Congratulations to the CPV DDO, club of the year of the Federation of speed skating of Quebec, which succeeds the CPV Montreal-Gadbois and the CPV Mirabel-St-Jérôme.

Méritas FPVQ – Retour sur la saison 2019-2020!
