Hello West Island Cyclones members!
Now that the season is up and running we wanted to touch base with everyone with a few reminders, notes and upcoming events.
Spond is the team management app that we use to share schedules, track practice attendance, and generally communicate with the various groups. Coaches and team managers will share all important info for your skaters’ group via Spond, so please make sure you have accepted the group invite and downloaded the free Spond app.
Many of our Group 2 skaters represented the club at the season’s first Liliane Lambert competition last weekend in Lanaudière. Our skaters performed exceptionally well and even brought home a few medals! Photos from the day will be shared across groups on Spond (so all the more reason to make sure you have joined!).
Some of our senior skaters will participate in the provincial and interregional competitions in the next couple of weeks. And the first CL’ Fun competition for our junior skaters is coming up on November 11th. Good luck to all skaters!
To participate in any of the aforementioned competitions, skaters must register through IceReg. If you have not yet completed a profile for your skater on IceReg, please do so. Even if they will not be participating in any competitions this season, they must still be registered with the Federation de Patinage de Vitesse du Québec (FPQ). Please check your inboxes as another email will be sent out shortly with a review of the step-by-step instructions for IceReg, in case you missed it the first time.
And in other exciting club news, we’re starting to prepare for this year’s Cyclones Cup, our club’s very own intra-meet. It’s a great way to get your feet wet if you’ve never done a competition before, and it is a lot of fun! The Cyclones Cup will take place on the last Sunday in November; a save-the-date email will be sent out to all members.
Happy skating! Don’t hesitate to be in touch with any questions.
